Stupid Monkey

February 20, 2009 rooster 5 comments

I need no source links here.  Just look on any news site, channel, paper, what have you… You’ll read or see a bunch of people up in arms about this cartoon:

monkeycartoon

People are saying it’s racist and an outrage.  Especially the likes of Al Sharpton and those people that supposedly fight against racism.

Problem is, if these people had an ounce of intelligence in them, they’d realize that this cartoon is not racist against Obama.  It’s not even racist.

The quote in the cartoon says “They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill” while showing a pic of a shot down monkey.  There are several inaccuracies when relating this to racism:

  • They are comparing the monkey to the person who wrote the bill.  Sure, that would be easily translated as racism if a black person wrote it.  But… it was Nancy Pelosi who wrote it.  Last time I checked, she’s an old white lady.  Obama didn’t write it, he just signed it when it finally made it to his desk.
  • Knowing that Nancy Pelosi wrote it, immediately assuming that the cartoon was aimed at Obama is an immediate racist act on it’s own just by assuming it was an attack on one’s color.  Al Sharpton, you are the one calling Obama a monkey.
  • Relating a monkey to our brothers from different colored mothers is widely out of date.  We should all know this, especially after 8 years straight of comparing, name calling, sh*t talking, and defamating George W. Bush.  If anything, this cartoon could be considered as racist against white people since monkeys have now been referenced in regard to GWB and, when reading the cartoon intelligently, Nancy Pelosi.

In fact, here’s just a snapshot of what referring to a monkey has been for the last 8 years:

bush_chimps2

You now, besides the redneck white supremicists in the backwoods of our southern states who have no national voice, people of the United States have honored Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream and left racism behind us.  The people who have not left racism behind us are people like Al Sharpton, who still think the world is out to get him because of his skin color.

You want equal rights and eliminate racism?  Stop this bullshit and fight for something that is actually still an issue.  Why not be pissed off about someone insulting Nancy Pelosi’s or congress-in-general’s intelligence or making fun of the woman who had her face ripped off by a monkey?  Or, better yet, stop trying to put your burnt-out self back in the spotlight and just let it go.  Your work as an anti-racism activist is done, and has been for quite some time.

Now, Sharpton is trying to get the New York Post shut down for publishing this cartoon.  Yup, that’s real smart.  Let’s see… You misunderstood the cartoon, don’t have the intelligence to see who the cartoon was actually aimed at, and want to shut down a company forcing hundreds of people into the unemployment line in spite of a legitimate issue out there – our economy.

Who knows, maybe Nancy Pelosi wrote Sharpton’s speech and we’re all just sorely misunderstanding his statement.

Can’t we all just get along?

Who are you to judge?

As most of you know, I’m quite the FARK fan.  I found this story today and I had to provide my own commentary.

If you don’t feel like reading that article, here’s the short of it: David Popescu is a federal candidate in Canada who had a debate with other candidates at some secondary school.  Popescu claims to be uber-Christian and bases all his beliefs and political motivations on the Bible.  When asked how he felt about gay marriage, Popescu said that gays should be executed.  “The Bible is very clear about that!” he says.

Seriously?!  This is such hypocrisy!  Obviously Popescu doesn’t know the Bible at all.  Sure, it says the act of homesexuality is sinful, but it doesn’t give us (Christians) the responsibility to EXECUTE them or even judge them accordingly.  In fact, here are just a few snippets from the Bible that go against this guy’s thesis:

Leviticus 18:22: Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

Malachi 2:15: “Has not the Lord made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.” : Has not the Lord made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.”

Mark 10:6: But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.

Romans 1:26-27: Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10:  Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

These are the main verses in the Bible that directly speak towards homosexuality and gay marriage.  Now tell me, where in the Bible, Mr. Popescu, does it say gays should be judged and executed by man?

Only God can judge them.  It’s the same God that said:

Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. (Luke 6:37)

The list of verses above talk about the act of homesexuality being a perversion and a sin.  Not the people themselves.

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What does this all mean?  If the sin is not against a law of the land, then only God can judge them.  If you (I am targeting Popescu and anyone like him in this manner), make judgements of execution rather than do your part as a Christian and bring them to God in a gracious manner, you yourself will have to answer to God for going against His Word.

Matthew 22:36-40: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

What Jesus says is the second greatest commandment clearly outlines that no matter who the person is and what they do, sinful or not, you are to love him as yourself.  Or your brother, your sister, whatever.  This applies to all people.

If you play God and make judgements for yourself, you are now violating the second of the original 10 commandments: You shall not make yourself an idol in the form of anything in Heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. (Exodus 20:4) and the fourth: You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name. (Exodus 20:7)

By no means am I claiming to perfect.  I know for a fact that I am not without sin, but I do my best and take heed of the commandments, especially those outlined in Matthew 22:36-40.  Therefore, I will not judge another man for his sins.  It’s not my place.  It’s not your place.  It’s not Popescu’s place.

My point is this: Popescu, and all others with a holier than thou attitude like him, you need to step off and leave the judging to Him who is worthy.  You are not Him.  Stop twisting the words of my faith to “justify” your hatred.  You are the reason that people think Christians are hypocrites.

How Rude…

You know what really pisses me off?  People that get pissed off because other people are on talking on their cell phones.  I think the real issue for these people is that they are nosy little pricks that want to eavesdrop on conversations, but they only get to hear one side of the conversation so they get all pissy about it.

Only being able to hear one side of the conversation is the only difference.  If you took that cell phone away and replaced it with another human being and they have the same conversation with same tone and tone, suddenly people aren’t so pissy about it.

Freakin’ hypocrites.

Gotta go now, some asshole is talking on his cell phone outside my office…

Complain about Complaining

Interesting article from Associated Press… that’s right Cranky Monkey, the Associated Press.  Not what you call right-wing fanaticism that is Fox News.  That’s right [myself], it’s not what I call left-wing fanaticism that is CNN.  It’s from what may possibly be, the only news source that is still unbiased.

This article talks about the basic facts of our democratic candidate’s behaviors:  translated to hypocricy – a general trait requirement for any government official.

I just hope this is the beginning of these two candidates eating each other.  Not metaphorically either.

I think as we get closer to November 8th and we find the superdelegates don’t have enough of a margin to declare the Democratic nominee and the Democrat party itself still can’t ever make a decision (reference Seattle Viaduct, light rail, monorail for perfect examples), these candidates are literally going to freak out, attack each other, and the winner takes all.  Especially the thigh.  Why the thigh?  Because neither Barack nor Hillary have a breast that anyone would ever want.

I hope you enjoyed the pun.

Cranky Rooster’s Police Academy Dropout

February 14, 2008 rooster 1 comment

OK, if you ever check my friends links and see the Cranky Monkey’s blogs, you are familiar with the Police Academy Dropouts series.  Well, today is the Rooster’s turn to be cranky and talk about a new Police Academy Dropout.

About 7 months ago I got pulled over for speeding in Lynnwood.  I was cited for speeding, 20 over, and for having an illegal tint job (15%, where the legal is 30%).

Last Friday, a friend of mine whom I will call “Java the Cup” because she is a barista, was also pulled over going 20 over, not having a signed registration, and having an expired insurance card (even though it’s the same policy which is still active and therefore valid).

This morning I was getting a coffee from Java the Cup.  While waiting for my life-nectar (the coffee), I look over at the adjacent gas station and notice a cop getting out of his undercover car.  The car was a newer Chevy Malibu.  No “XMT” license plate.  No extra antennas.  In fact, it had the same tint my car has.  You know, the illegal one I just got a ticket for.

This got me thinking… Yesterday I was running to the bank and I noticed a cop speeding down the road for no reason.  I was going the speed limit (35 MPH) and he blew past me like I was stopped.  Easily going 20 over, possibly 30-40.  One might think he was trying to get to an emergency discretely, but no… he stopped at the next red light and stayed there like any other driver on the road should.  When the light turned green, he sped off again like he was drag racing until he got caught in traffic, then just slowed down again.  Not to mention, half of this was a school zone.

HYPOCRITICAL JACKASSES!  You cite me and my friends for speeding and illegal tint jobs.  Yet, it’s ok for you to speed down the road for no reason and have the same tint job you made me pay a ticket for!  You wonder why people don’t respect you?!

Like the Cranky Monkey and I say… Get off your fat donut asses and solve some real crimes!

For example, my dear friend Nici who was murdered two years ago that you claimed to have several leads on and then the case went cold – not to be heard of again.  Or the guy who just committed his second murder over $50 and didn’t even get the death penalty.  Or how about using government resources to bust a guy by the name of Larry Craig for making gay sexual soliciations in an airport bathroom while complaining at the same time that we, as a country, don’t have enough resources to fight terrorism.

I’d like give my respect to law enforcement, but it’s just so damn hard when a majority of you just don’t do your jobs.

I hereby pass the Police Academy Dropout baton (you know, the same one used to beat Rodney King with) back to the Cranky Monkey.

The Passion…

February 12, 2008 rooster 2 comments

I read this article about a guy named Benedict Fitzgerald who cowrote the screenplay for “The Passion of the Christ”.   Fitzgerald is suing Mel Gibson for breach of contract, fraud and unfair business practices, contends in his 21-page complaint that he “accepted a salary substantially less than what he would have taken had he known the true budget for the film.”

That’s fine and dandy… but one thing really stood out to me here. Apparently, the lawsuit says “Because of his [Fitzgerald's] background, because of his deep and personal religious convictions (which he believed to be shared by Gibson) and because of his passion for the project, Ben forewent pursuing other scripts and exclusively devoted the following years of his life to The Passion without requesting or receiving any additional compensation,” the lawsuit states.

I do have to say that if the media is telling the whole truth, I do believe that Gibson was wrong in not compensating Fitzgerald appropriately. However, most likely we aren’t hearing the whole story. Here’s my take on it:If Fitzgerald really had “deep and personal religious convictions, he would know that the Bible (Jesus specifically) commands not to sue.In fact, the words are called out specifically in Matthew 5:39-40 saying: “But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well.

Going a little farther, Luke 6:30 says “Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.”

So Fitzgerald… how deep are your personal religious convictions?  Since you’re suing Gibson, I think your lawsuit is total garbage – Proving that you have no “passion”.  On the flipside – It would also be very hypocritical of Gibson to put up a fight.  However, as I said earlier:  We probably don’t know the whole story, so I’m just going off the information I have.

My major complaint is that people try to hide behind the religious curtain to make money, but when it comes down to it, they actually have no idea what they are talking about.  These are the people that make religion look hypocritical.  Too bad the world is so blind that they confuse the people’s hypocrisy as a problem with religion.

A Convenient Truth

February 28, 2007 rooster 6 comments

I love it when Democrats are exposed as the hypocrites they are. You’ve probably seen the news about Gore’s electricity bill being close to $1400 a month.

Yup, the voice behind global warming awareness is wasting natural resources more than the average American.

Gore claims he makes up for it by investing in $432 per month in green power.

Um, hello? Two problems here:

  1. Do the math:  $1359 on the non-environment friendly energy consumption per month.  $432 a month in green power investments.  That’s $927 worth of still-wasted energy consumption per month.  That doesn’t offset anything.  Yet, he states this balances 100%.  We can post that statement right next to him spelling “potato” with an “e”.
  2. Gore’s spokeperson, Kalee Kreider, states “Focusing on Gore’s personal electricity consumption misses the point of “An Inconvenient Truth,” which is that governments and the public can work together to reduce emissions.”

Thanks for pointing #2 out. What part of Gore’s wasteful energy consumption works with the people and the government to reduce emissions? Is it the part about investing in green energy each month? Nope, that can’t be it (refer to #1 above). This doesn’t change the fact that he is wasting fossil fuels just like the rest of the world.

Oh, I’m sorry, did I say “just like the rest of the world”? I meant, 4 times more than the average American with an equivalent size home as Gore.

Too bad I’m not a Democrat. If I was, I could start a campaign raising awareness about blogging being a waste of time and energy. And then blog about it.

Political Crap

February 25, 2007 rooster 1 comment

I was just reading an article about how Cheney is, when reading between the lines, threatening war with Iran because they are not complying with shutting down their nuclear program.

I could spend hours getting into details here, but I’m just going to get to the point:

It is so hypocritical that the UN, specifically the United States, is threatening countries that have nuclear programs with war. Who is the biggest nuclear power on the Earth? The US. How can we, in good conscience, tell other countries they can’t have nuclear programs when we have the worst kind imaginable?

In closing, I’d like to preemptively counteract my Democrat and Liberal friends that are sure to say something like “that’s a Republican for you”, just remember: Franklin D. Roosevelt, who started the nuclear shame, was a Democrat.

ABC Gum

February 13, 2007 rooster Leave a comment

That’s right, “Already Been Chewed” is the theme of this story. I ran into this story, titled Students get a lesson to chew on, on MSNBC.Quick synopsis: A non-profit organization called the Rockville Pregnancy Center, was leading a demonstration at several high schools, talking about pregnancy and STD awareness. There were two parts to the demonstration:

  1. Having a volunteer chew a piece of gum for 5 seconds. When the 5 seconds is up, ask someone else to take over and start chewing that same piece of gum (i.e. ABC Gum). Apparently, upwards to 18 people were involved in this process.
  2. Having a volunteer choose one of 4 pieces of chocolate, one of which may or may not have a laxative in it.

I understand the point is to show how stupid kids can be by willingly putting themselves in a situation that can have seriously negative affects.

What I don’t understand is why they didn’t just express their point before allowing the next person to partake in the demonstration. They are now the cause of that which they are trying to prevent.

The least of my concerns here is the Chocolate Volunteer choosing the Snickers: Colon Blow Edition. This is my big concern:

Imagine if ABC Gum Volunteer #3 had Herpes Simplex A (for those of you that don’t know, this is mouth herpes). Now, ABC Gum Volunteers #4-18 have a bucket of herpes in their mouth.

What’s next? Handing out a loaded bong with a lighter in D.A.R.E class?! “See what happens when you do drugs!”

Final thought: If I ever have a kid, I’ll just pay the money for private school.

Tent City

February 12, 2007 rooster 2 comments

I don’t understand why people are getting their panties in a bunch over Tent City.

It’s a good thing. People constantly complain how horrible the homeless rate is, yet when these people band together and construct “Tent City”, a place the homeless can call home, a destitute “apartment” complex so-to-speak, people are freaking out, saying they don’t want it around.

“It’s unsafe”. “There are schools nearby and it doesn’t seem right”.

These people have a right to live. “Tent City” is a lot better than having these begging, sick, and dying citizens strewn all over our streets with no shelter.

Quit complaining and try coming up with a solution for once! Stop being the problem!

My Fiance and I were talking about this and came up with a solution in a manner of minutes.

If people don’t feel “safe” with homeless camping out in the vicinity, why not have these people registered so that, if needed, they can easily be identified?

Doesn’t sound like much? Well, think of it this way: Sex offenders are only required to register so that people are aware of where they live. For sex offenders, Level 1 to 3, this is all they need to do and no one can do anything about having them around. Most homeless people’s worst crime is panhandling, yet they are treated worse then people who violently rape innocent human beings.

I really try not to judge people, but it’s so hard not to when I know this level of hypocrisy is in our society.

These people have way too much sand in their vagina. That’s right, I went there.
